Cyclists in the Midland Guildford Ward area are likely to be well aware that the Principal Shared Path (PSP) between Midland and Perth is missing a bridge – over the Swan River between Guildford and Bassendean. Currently, cyclists have to detour around the road bridge before re-joining the PSP.
The picture shows an idea for the bridge, shown in red (This concept is NOT endorsed by Main Roads, City of Swan or the Town of Bassendean or anyone else).
The WA Government currently has a $4.5 billion surplus – I think the state government should spend some of this on infrastructure for Midland, and completing the cycle path is one way to invest for the future. Do you agree? Do you have other ideas – a state election year is a good time to raise them. Contact your state MP before the state election in March 2025.
