The Swan Valley returns to Singapore to showcase the region’s best offerings

The City of Swan visited Singapore last week to showcase some of the best food and beverage offerings and experiences from the jewel in its tourism crown, the Swan Valley.

On Thursday March 30, guests at The Swan Valley in Singapore 2023 event at the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview were invited to taste the region’s bountiful produce, artisanal goods, award-winning wines, spirits, cider and beer, and learn why the Swan Valley is a great place to visit.

Guests had the chance to:

● Sample spirits from Old Young’s Distillery, recently named Craft Producer of the Year and Brand Innovator of the Year at the 2023 Icons of Gin awards in London

● Sip award-winning wines from Nikola Estate made by WA Winemaker of the Year, Damian Hutton

● Create their own flavours of nougat with Mondo Nougat

● Try authentic bush tucker with Dale Tilbrook Experiences

● Taste the crunchy Autumn Crisp, a favourite table grape variety among Singaporeans

● Capture Swan Valley-themed Instagram moments at dedicated spots in the venue

● Hear from or taste product from Bailey Brewing Co, Oakover Wines, Sandalford Wines, The House of Honey,

Morish Nuts, John Kosovich Wines, Limeburners & Giniversity in the Valley, Funk Cider, Pasta in the Valley and The Vines Resort.

The Swan Valley is the State’s oldest wine region and the second oldest in Australia. The Valley is punching above its weight in terms of award-winning restaurants and wine and spirits makers. It is home to:

● Almost 50 wineries, 12 breweries and cideries, and 10 distilleries

● The Swan Valley Visitor Centre, awarded Australia’s best visitor centre at the prestigious QANTAS Australian Tourism Awards in 2019 and inducted into the Hall of Fame

● Award-winning restaurants with passionate, innovative chefs showcasing the best WA produce, including Sandalford Wines, Wild Swan at Mandoon Estate, and Old Young’s Kitchen

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas, who led the delegation of City staff and Swan Valley food, beverage, cultural and tourism businesses at the showcase, said Singaporeans have an undeniable appetite for the region’s produce and experiences.

“Singaporeans were among the first international visitors to return to the Swan Valley when Western Australia reopened its borders in March 2022,” he said.

“They were eager to experience nature, farm stays and of course, stock up on our award-winning wines and the last of the season’s coveted table grapes.

“Visitors can immerse themselves in the beautiful Swan Valley, where friendly, passionate locals welcome you to create treasured memories and have a wondrous, otherworldly, Western Australian ‘Walking on a Dream’ experience, without having to drive for hours out of the city.

“The Swan Valley in Singapore 2023 event gave our guests a taste of what the region is about: a semi-rural escape with abundant fresh produce straight from farm stalls, gourmet artisan goods, award-winning beer, ciders, wine and spirits — all within easy reach of the Perth city centre.”

City of Swan Chief Executive Officer Stephen Cain said an event such as The Swan Valley in Singapore 2023 underpinned the City’s continued support for tourism businesses, and was more important than ever in the competitive travel marketplace.

“The City of Swan recognises Singapore as a valuable market for many of its businesses. Returning to Singapore will promote tourism visitation, while helping our local businesses to build better trade and retail connections,” he said.

The Swan Valley in Singapore 2023 marked the launch of a new marketing campaign to encourage visitation to the Swan Valley. As part of the campaign, Singapore residents are able to enter a lucky draw to win a trip for two to the Swan Valley and Perth.
