The Joint Development Assessment Panel today refused the development application for the two storey driving range at the Vines Resort & Country Club in the Swan Valley. The vote was a convincing 4-1 majority and comes after a strong campaign by the Vines Residence & Ratepayers Association against the proposal.
City of Swan councillors had already voted in favour of refusing the project on April 13, strengthening the case at the JDAP.
Local councillor Aaron Bowman told his facebook audience: ‘This has been a Goliath versus David battle, and it shows that developers don’t always get what they want. This is a win for all those that are fighting against greedy developers and those that believe the planning legislation doesn’t apply to them.’
