The popular Shalom Ladies Café in the Swan Valley is in danger of having to shut its doors, due to an unaffordable rent increase.
Shalom Ladies Café is operated by Shalom House, a non-profit, holistic drug rehabilitation centre run by Peter Lyndon James.
‘The Shalom Ladies Boutique Café is “not” designed to make money but to teach, equip and change lives. 100% of the funds made go into changing lives. All funds made, do go back into changing lives. The café is an integral part of our Women’s program. The café teaches the girls Barista training, food preparation and service, Customer communication, sales, management etc.’ he said.
A significant rent increase has forced them to either close the café or purchase the site, which is up for sale. However, Shalom House is short $25,000 in funding and is reaching out to the public for help.
A GoFundMe has been set up for people willing to help. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-keep-shalom-ladies-cafe-door-open?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_lico%20share-sheet&fbclid=IwAR1K736dXbcF4HMlebUVAdWPRtidBVzZKpl4bYMSU8SmpcywvUIDvMDXjxI
